The Eye

By C. Burgess

Circular, spherical disc,
A sea – green with blurred smudges of icy blue,
The jade olive color exploding off the ball,
Springing toward you like a right hook in a boxing match,
The eye.

Vanilla, cream colored continents,
Implanted deep into the colossal craters of it,
Trapped as prisoners of its evil,
Symbols of glowing hope in the midst of dark confusion,
The eye.

Clear, lake colored,
As bleached snow screams in agony
Yet brilliant orange cream fights for publicity stuck behind
The eye.
